Kenneth Okonkwo has reacted to the N5 billion defamation demand issued by the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Peter Obi, insisting he will respond formally after going through the letter
In a statement, Okonkwo said he was aware of the legal notice circulating but dismissed the move, describing it in strong terms.
Kenneth Okonkwo queried Peter Obi if he’s looking for campaign funds ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Okonkwo also warned that, as a former spokesperson, he is mindful of confidential information he was exposed to, stressing that he would not hesitate to speak if pushed further.
“It has been brought to my notice that there is a letter circulating online from the hypocrite, Peter Obi, and his lawyers that I should pay him N5b… If Peter Obi is looking for money to campaign, he should privately ask me for assistance… I did so when I was his spokesperson paying for my flight tickets and booking for my hotel accommodation to some of our campaigns,” he said.
“My principle is that I do not use any confidential information I share with anyone against the person except the person who becomes unintelligent enough to tow the line of foolishness,” he said.
