Media personality Daddy Freeze has apologized to those who were offended by his choice of outfit at the service of songs held in honour of the late Alex.
Speaking about the event, Daddy Freeze explained that he wore black because he was unaware of the dress code was white and did not see the invitation details in time.
“I apologize to everyone who felt offended because of what I wore to Alex’s service of songs. I wore black because I didn’t see the invite on IG and we don’t follow each other. The invite that was sent to my phone, I didn’t see the dress code at the bottom. Where I come from, people wear black to mourn. I don’t understand the white. I thought we were mourning a young man who died when it was not yet his time. He died because of Nigeria’s failure and religious influence. I never knew that a service of songs will have dress code,” he said.
Daddy Freeze also shared his thoughts on how the event unfolded, expressing surprise at some of the activities that took place during the service.
“Mercy Chinwo climbed the stage and turned the place to a concert. At this point, I got up and went home. Do people understand what a funeral is? They could have just played hymns,” he stated.
The broadcaster also reacted to comments by actor Yul Edochie, who had questioned why the late actor kept his wife out of the public eye, that he should have made his marriage public despite potential gossip. Responding, Daddy Freeze questioned why was his attention being directed at the widow.
“To Yul Edochie that blamed Alex for not showing his wife before he died, what is your business with the wife? Do you want to start dating her? Everything is not clout,” Daddy Freeze said.
