Illbliss faces backlash for saying Igbos own Lagos’ lands

Rapper, Illbliss has found himself facing intense backlash after comments about Igbos owning Lagos lands

The rapper initially weighed in on discussions surrounding the role of Igbos in Lagos, arguing that the ethnic group has made substantial contributions to the state’s economy, particularly in business and real estate.

“The Igbos have contributed immensely to the Lagos economy! Commerce wise! If you have a problem with it, hug a frigging transformer!!! We have made massive investments in real estate too!! Other tribes have contributed too. Why is it always a problem when it’s the Igbos? Why?” he posted on X.

One user identified as @IgeOlusayo47761, accused him of being ungrateful and telling him to focus on issues affecting the South-East instead.

Illbliss’ response which carried alot of condescending tone and insults, became topic among critics and Yoruba indigenes, although he later deleted.

In the post, the rapper was quoted as saying: “We own your lands fool. We bought everywhere and renting it back to you. Thank you Lagos for the opportunity. You will pay rent forever in this city, bloody scavenger.”

The alleged statement sparked outrage, with critics accusing the rapper of making inflammatory remarks capable of deepening ethnic divisions.

“Illbliss is a COWARD for deleting that Tweet, At least Stand On your word as a Man you claim to Be, But no you had to be a Coward. Bitch Boy.”, another wrote.

“That retard, @n6oflife6 is out here defending illbliss, lmao. Not really surprising though, they seem to share some similarities. Becuase they both didn’t really hit the level expected in their craft, so yeah, the alignment makes a bit of sense, ngl. A failed rapper”, a user objectified.
