The Oyo State Police Command has denied claims that Yoruba Nation agitator Sunday Igboho, played any role in the reported release of k!dnapped victims in Igboho, Oorelope Local Government Area of the state

The police said there is no official confirmation that the victims have regained their freedom and stressed that there is no evidence linking Sunday Igboho to any rescue effort.

The clarification came on Sunday after videos and reports alleged that the a.bductees were freed shortly after Igboho issued a two-hour ultimatum to suspected k!dnappers operating in the community.

The victims were said to be a pregnant woman, her children and a sibling who were a.bducted during a midnight raid in the town.

Reports indicated that the k!dnappers initially demanded a ransom of N300 million, which was later reduced to N150 million.

Following reports of the family’s release, residents of Igboho celebrated the development, with videos showing crowds gathering in different parts of the community.

Earlier, Sunday Igboho had met with leaders of the Fulani community in Igboho, accusing certain individuals of being responsible for cases of k!dnapping and other security challenges affecting the area.
