Afrobeats singer Skales has come under heavy criticism after stating that there is no candidate worthy of his vote in the upcoming presidential election.
The controversy began after broadcaster Oseni Rufai asked users on X who they intended to vote for in the next election.
Responding to the question, Skales bluntly replied: “To be honest none !!!”

His comment immediately triggered reactions, with some users challenging his stance and accusing him of discouraging civic participation.
One user, @_SammyNas, argued that critics of bad governance should not justify inaction, saying: “Make we no ever hear sey you Dey complain about bad governance.”
In response, Skales maintained his position, insisting that critics should first point to credible alternatives before condemning his opinion.
“Tell me a good candidate amongst them all then,” he wrote.
Another user, Jjayfreshworld, urged him to research the available options, claiming there are still credible candidates in the political space.
However, Skales doubled down, saying: “I don’t see any good candidate that can take this country to a better place.”
