Argentine footballer Lucas Trejo has suffered a devastating personal loss after his wife and two children were confirmed de.ad following the powerful twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela
Trejo, who plays for Venezuelan second-division side Club Sport Marítimo La Guaira, reportedly spent three days searching through the rubble for his wife, Yanina, and their children, Aaron and Ainhoa, before rescue teams recovered their bodies.

His club announced the heartbreaking news in a statement shared on Instagram, paying tribute to the family.
“Club Sport Marítimo La Guaira deeply mourns the irreparable loss of our player’s wife and children.”
According to reports, the 38-year-old footballer was attending a training camp with his team in Caracas when the 7.2 and 7.5 magnitude earthquakes struck on Wednesday evening.
He rushed back to his home in La Guaira, one of the areas hardest hit by the disaster, only to discover that the building where his family had been was completely destroyed.
“He found absolutely nothing of what the building itself had been,” Trejo’s brother-in-law, Ricardo Ardiles, told CNN.
The twin earthquakes have caused widespread devastation across Venezuela, with authorities reporting that nearly 1,500 people have lost their lives, while tens of thousands remain missing.
