Cynthia Anijekwu appeals for help amid cancer battle

Nollywood actress Cynthia Anijekwu is appealing to Nigerians for financial support as she battles cancer.

The actress shared that she was diagnosed with the disease in 2023 and underwent surgery followed by chemotherapy. Although she completed the treatment, she said the cancer later returned. After a recent medical check-up, her doctors informed her that it had spread to her bones, leaving her in need of more intensive treatment.

Cynthia explained that she now spends more than ₦600,000 every month on treatment and has also been told she will need radiation therapy and another surgery. According to her, the cost has become more than her family can handle, prompting her to seek help from the public.

In her appeal, she said:

“Good evening, Nigerians. Good evening to everyone watching me from wherever you are. My name is Cynthia Anijekwu.

I was diagnosed with cancer in 2023. I underwent surgery and received chemotherapy, but unfortunately, the cancer returned. Since then, I have been in and out of the hospital.

After my recent medical check-up, my doctor informed me that the cancer has spread to my bones, and the cost of treatment has become much more expensive.

I now spend over ₦600,000 every month on treatment, and it has not been easy. My doctor also said that I will need radiation therapy and another surgery.

This is no longer something my family can afford on our own, so I am appealing to Nigerians for help.

Even my hands are swollen. The breast where I first had surgery has been affected again, and the pain is beyond anything I can describe.

Please, I want to live. I want to survive. I am asking Nigerians to please help me. Anyone who can assist, I sincerely need your help. I need to receive the proper treatment so I can survive.

I am begging you, my brothers and sisters, please help me. Any amount, no matter how small, can make a difference. Even ₦1 or ₦2 can add up and help me receive the treatment I desperately need for this cancer.

Please help me.”
