Nollywood actress, Grace Ama has lost her father, Chief Ogbonnaya Ama
She revealed that he passed away just minutes after asking her to pray for him during their last phone conversation.
In conversation with Tribune Newspaper, the actress recounted that her father called her on Thursday evening and made a request for prayers.
She said they prayed together over the phone, after which he responded with “Amen” before they ended the call.
“We spoke exactly on Thursday evening, and I prayed for him and he said, ‘Amen,’” she said.
Grace disclosed that about 10 minutes after the conversation, she received another call informing her that her father had died.
“And by 7:11 p.m., I was told he had gone,” she recalled.
Describing the loss as devastating, the actress said she is struggling to come to terms with his de.ath, noting that he was not only her father but also her greatest supporter.
“My only first love and cheerleader has gone to be with his Creator. No one to call me Nollywood First Lady anymore,” she lamented.
Chief Ogbonnaya Azu Ama, who bore the traditional title of Ezi Okwu Bu Mdu (Truth Is Life) I of Ebunwana Edda, marked his 80th birthday in December 2025, according to Grace.
