Apostle Johnson Suleiman has advised singles to approach dinner dates with the right mindset, saying the meeting should be about getting to know each other rather than simply going out for a meal.

The Omega Fire Ministries founder said women should make sure they are prepared before accepting a dinner invitation. He advised them to eat before leaving home and also keep some money with them in case they need to handle their own bills.

“Going out on a dinner date is a platform for familiarisation. It’s not a cure for starvation. What are you doing carrying takeaway? What are you doing with takeaway? Don’t you have respect for yourself?”, he said.

He further told women:

“As you’re placing orders, please, as a lady, here are two pieces of advice I will give you if you’re going on a dinner date. Number one, eat very well from home. Number two, have money in your bag to order what you can pay for in case he doesn’t pay”, he stated.

Suleiman also reminded men to be realistic when choosing a location for a dinner date, saying they should not invite someone to a place they cannot afford.

“And you as a brother, don’t take someone on a dinner date to a place you know you can’t afford. By the time you get there, you start behaving like a p0ssessed person. ‘How much is water?’ They say, ₦2,000, and you say, ‘Eeeh. How come?”, he noted.

He said the focus of a dinner date should remain on connection and conversation, with both people taking responsibility for their choices.
