The Nigeria Police are set to arraign the Director-General of the controversial Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), Adeniyi Adeyemi, before the Federal High Court in Abuja on Tuesday over alleged forgery and impersonation
In a fresh eight-count charge filed before the court, Adeyemi and two others are accused of forgery, impersonation and related offences. The charge, marked FHC/ABJ/CR/562/2025, was filed on November 27, 2025, by police prosecutor Wisdom Madaki.
Police alleged that Adeyemi operated the fictitious agency from the second floor of the Federal Secretariat Complex, Phase III, Abuja, before his arrest.
President Bola Tinubu had earlier directed the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) to investigate the activities of the fake agency within 30 days.
The defendants were initially scheduled to take their plea on June 16, but the case was adjourned after Adeyemi was reported to be ill.
Among those listed as prosecution witnesses are the President’s Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila, several civil servants, police officers, individuals allegedly assigned to the non-existent agency, and other private citizens.
The police also plan to tender several documents as evidence, including the investigation report, Gbajabiamila’s petition, an alleged fake presidential appointment letter, correspondence with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, documents relating to accounts with the Central Bank of Nigeria, and other official records linked to the alleged operation of the agency.
According to the court documents, the prosecution may call additional witnesses during the trial to support its case.
