Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde has confirmed that the second teacher killed during the school a.bduction in Oriire Local Government Area is Mr. John Olaleye
The confirmation came after the rescued pupils and teachers were received by the Oyo State Government. Speaking after their rescue, the school principal, Mr. Alamu, revealed that Olaleye was k!lled on the first Sunday of June 2026 while the victims were still in captivity.
According to the principal, the k!dnappers allegedly carried out the killing after their demands were not met. He said the abducted pupils and teachers witnessed the incident.
Makinde’s confirmation brings the number of teachers k!lled during the a.bduction to two. Earlier reports confirmed that another teacher, Mr. Michael Oyedokun, was killed after allegedly being beheaded by the a.bductors.
The rescued victims have since been reunited with the state government and are receiving medical attention, psychological care, and other forms of support.
