Nigerian Afrofusion star Burna Boy and Colombian music superstar Shakira have reunited ahead of their performance at the historic FIFA World Cup final halftime show
On Friday, Burna Boy shared a video on his X account capturing the pair warmly greeting each other during rehearsals for Sunday’s final at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, United States. The clip showed the singers smiling, laughing and embracing outside the production area.

He accompanied the post with the caption: “Sunday Prep! @shakira See you at the @FIFAWorldCup Final! Dai dai, ikó, dale, allez, let’s go!”
It has been previously confirmed that Burna Boy and Shakira will perform “Dai Dai,” the official anthem of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, during the competition’s first-ever Super Bowl-inspired halftime show.

To make room for the entertainment spectacle, the traditional 15-minute halftime interval is expected to be extended to around 30 minutes. The schedule will reportedly include the usual halftime analysis alongside an 11-minute live performance led by Burna Boy and Shakira.
The star-studded show will include feature from BTS, Madonna, Justin Bieber, renowned conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the PS22 Chorus with Coldplay, and appearances by beloved Sesame Street and The Muppets characters. FIFA said the event will also highlight global education initiatives for children.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup final will see Spain take on Argentina on Sunday.
Burna Boy and Shakira previously performed “Dai Dai” during the tournament’s opening ceremony in Mexico City, where the song was officially introduced as the World Cup anthem.
