Lawyer and activist Deji Adeyanju has responded to influencer Jima Emmanuel’s comments about dating financially struggling men, describing her statement as a sign of failed parenting, low self-esteem and an inferiority complex.
Jima had earlier said she would never consider a financially struggling man because she enjoys money and wants a partner who can keep up with her lifestyle.
She said:
“A financially struggling man has no place in my heart. I no wan suffer person son oo. It’s not me that will drain you because I’m the kind of girl that if you give me ₦1 million today, the next day I want ₦2 million.
You give me ₦2 million, the next day I’ll want ₦3 million, ₦4 million, ₦5 million. I’m never satisfied. So I want to be with a man that I know is financially stable enough.
And if you’re a man and you think I’m saying nonsense, go and work, go and make money. Your mates are spending their house rent on food.
Me, I like money. I don’t care. Even in my dreams, I like money. A financially struggling man has no place in my heart.”
Responding to her comments, Adeyanju wrote:
“Failed nation, failed parenting, lack of home or community training, lack of self esteem, inferiority complex, etc responsible for this kind of crash-out. To get to this point in life where you don’t see yourself beyond a parasite, you must have done everything in life & nothing is working. And this is one of the major reasons relationships and marriages are failing.”
