Jaywon has backed the calls for Tyla to stay away from Nigeria for now. Insisting that anyone who remained silent while foreigners were being att.acked and their properties destroyed in South Africa should stay in their own country.
In a post on his Instagram story, Jaywon made it clear that his concern is not about Tyla herself coming to the country. Instead, he said his position is based on what he believes was a lack of response during the period when foreigners were reportedly att.acked and their properties destroyed in South Africa.
He wrote:
“Nobody is angry that Tyla is coming to Nigeria. But if you didn’t speak up when foreigners were being attacked and their properties taken, make she dey her country. Not a good time.”
His comments come against the backdrop of repeated xenophobic att.acks targeting foreign nationals in South Africa. The att.acks left several people de. ad and injured, while businesses and properties belonging to foreigners were also looted and destroyed.
