Sometimes, no matter how much you give to a relationship, things still don’t turn out the way you hoped. That seems to be where popular Nigerian comedian Mazi Okeke finds himself after sharing a deeply personal message about his relationship.
According to the comedian, he never imagined he would be talking publicly about something so private, but he said the pain became too much to keep to himself.
He explained that he had spent years supporting the woman he planned to marry, believing they were building a life together, only to later discover she had allegedly been unfaithful.
Taking to his page to lament, he said:
“My fiancée cheated on me. There is nothing you can do to please some wömen.
“This is someone I invested my life and money in.
“I’m not the kind of person who comes online to talk about my personal issues, but this really hurts.
“I paid her school fees from 200 level through her final year, opened a shop for her, and even built a house for her parents.
Looking back, I feel so stupid and heartbroken.”
His words paint the picture of someone struggling to come to terms with the end of a relationship he believed would last.
Beyond the money and support he says he gave, he described feeling hurt by the trust he placed in someone he intended to spend his future with.
