Social media personality, Emmanuel Philip popularly known as NaijaShimadun has expressed concern about what he believes is a growing thuggery across parts of Lagos Island, particularly within the Lekki axis.
According to hi, the increasing presence of thugs in the area is becoming difficult to ignore, and he believes urgent action is needed before the situation gets worse.
He expressed his concern over the lifestyle often displayed by celebrities in the area, saying that public shows of wealth and the attention they attract could expose people to unnecessary risks if security issues are left unchecked.
Sharing his concerns on his X account, he said:
“Lagos Island, especially the Lekki axis, is gradually becoming the new Oshodi. The Lekki axis is becoming increasingly dangerous, and while everyone sits back and relaxes, thugs are comfortably occupying different corners of the Island.
“Meanwhile, many of our celebrities are turning the area into a place to showcase their wealth and create social media hype, without realizing that they may be putting their lives and properties at risk.
“I am urging the Lagos State Government to urgently step in and do something about the growing presence of thugs and street violence across these areas before the situation gets completely out of hand.”
