Liverpool have reached an agreement with Barcelona to bring Ronald Araujo to Anfield on loan in what could become one of the most unexpected moves of the summer transfer window
The transfer has developed with little prior speculation, making the reported agreement particularly surprising. Araujo is now expected to spend the upcoming season with the Premier League champions.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reports that negotiations between the two clubs have progressed to the final stage, with the key terms already settled and the necessary documents expected to be completed within the next 24 hours.
Barcelona sporting director Deco has reportedly approved the deal, paving the way for the Uruguay international to make the temporary switch to England.
Araujo is set to join Liverpool on an initial loan agreement, with the Reds also securing an option to make his move permanent at the end of the spell.
However, Liverpool will not be obliged to trigger the clause. The non-mandatory nature of the buy option means Barcelona would retain control over Araujo’s future should the English club decide not to complete a permanent transfer.
