A married woman who was accused of having an affair at an NYSC orientation camp in Ise/Orun Local Government Area of Ekiti State has said she was set up by a fellow corps member.
She revealed that the corps member was her friend at the camp and had previously made advances towards her, which she turned down after telling him she was married. She then decided to distance herself from him.
She later agreed to give him a hug after telling him that, because of her marital status, she no longer wanted them to remain as close as they had been.
But she alleged that she did not know the hug was a setup. According to her, some of his friends were nearby and took photographs of them while they embraced. She said those photographs were later used to create the impression that she was having an affair with him.
The incident happened in 2022, while she was serving at the camp.
The situation, she alleged, went further when fake photos and videos were produced and presented as evidence against her.
The allegations eventually led to her expulsion from the camp.
Her husband reportedly refused to let the matter end there and contacted the NYSC Director-General’s office, asking that the case be properly investigated.
The case was reopened, and the disputed photos and videos were subjected to forensic examination.
The woman said the investigation found that the materials had been manipulated using artificial intelligence and were not genuine.
She said NYSC later apologized and allowed her to return to camp and complete her service.
“I Was Framed”, she said.
