Ayo Adesanya has opened up about her Christian journey and why she has chosen to remain celibate for about three years
During an interview on City FM, the veteran actress explained that her relationship with God has grown stronger, and this has changed her perspective on dating and companionship. She said she has reached a point where being single no longer makes her feel lonely or incomplete.
Adesanya noted that she has many friends she can call, have conversations with or invite out for dinner, but having people around her does not mean she is looking for a romantic partner
When asked about her current Christian life and relationship status, Adesanya said:
“Unfortunately my Christian life is getting stronger oh. So you don’t do relationships anymore? I don’t, for real for real. It’s strange? It’s not strange. With your work with Jesus, at some point, it doesn’t bother you any longer.
“I have lots of friends. I can pick my phone, we will talk. You know? I can even say, okay, let’s go and eat dinner. But I know my mind. I know I’m not, it’s not about having relationship with anybody.
“Well, no relationship for like maybe three years. I have lots of people ask me out on a daily basis. But sometimes I just feel like people just say it for saying.
“The interview I did with Lege Miami, that thing caused a lot of problems. People were calling me, all the toasters that I’ve not had in a while. Like, are you serious? That’s the thing, we don’t know when you are serious. You are always joking about it. Are you serious? Do you want somebody to?”
