Luxury car content creator, auto reviewer and entrepreneur, popularly known as Ola of Lagos, has recalled a time when he was still trying to make a name for himself in the car business.
At the time, he approached a car dealership and offered to advertise their cars for free. He wasn’t asking for money. He simply wanted the chance to showcase the vehicles and build a relationship with the dealership.
But the response he got was straightforward. They asked him, “Who knows you?”
Ola kept working and gradually built his name in the car business. Months later, the same dealership came back to him.
By then, things had changed. The person they had once asked, “Who knows you?”, was now a recognised name, and the dealership was interested in working with him but had to pay in millions.
As he put it in a post shared ;
“I once begged a car dealership to let me advertise their cars for free, but they asked, ‘who jnows you?’ months later, they came back after I became popular and eventually paid me millions.”
