Diiadem has explained that being seen with people or supporting them does not necessarily mean they are part of her circle of close friends.
The entrepreneur was responding to questions about why she is often seen around people in Lagos despite previously saying that she does not do “Lagos friendships.”
According to her, she can have a good relationship with someone, show up for them, celebrate them and spend time with them without calling them a friend.
In a post she shared, she said:
“I can genuinely like you, support you, root for you, celebrate you without you being part of my inner circle. Guess what? That doesn’t make that relationship fake,” she said.
Diiadem said getting older has made her more careful about how she uses the word “friend.” For her, there is a difference between people she knows, people she works with, people she supports and those she considers close friends.
“You can be my girl and not be my friend. You can be someone I respect and not be my friend. You can even come to my birthday party, dance from morning till 2 a.m. and not still be my close friend.
“Allow me to interact with Lagos citizens in peace. It’s not that serious”, she said.
