Everton have been put up for sale by their owners The Freidkin Group less than two years after completing their takeover of the club
However, they are only open to parting ways with the club if they are convinced the new owner is the right person or group to take the team ‘to the next level’
The Toffees owners were already looking for investment but are prepared to exit the club should the right buyer emerge. The Friedkin Group intend to continue to support the club, and are happy to remain on Merseyside until a suitable successor appears.
The Everton investors also own Serie A side Roma and Ligue 1 club AS Cannes, and are in the process of launching an NHL franchise in Houston with a deal valued at around £2.65billion.
