The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) is mourning Comrade Etimbuk Daniel, the immediate past Students’ Union Government (SUG) president of Akwa Ibom State University, who d!ed at the NYSC orientation camp in Enugu State.
Reports say Daniel complained of a headache while at the camp and was given medication. His condition reportedly worsened after taking the d.rugs, prompting him to ask to be taken to the hospital.
However, the approval needed to take him for medical attention reportedly came too late. Daniel d!ed before he could receive treatment.
According to reports, a doctor later identified the medication administered to him as fa.ke.
His de.ath has raised concerns about the medical care available to corps members at orientation camps and the procedures for responding to medical emergencies.
