Singer Mr Eazi says he had the chance to sign for Chelsea FC before his friend, John Mikel Obi, but decided to walk away because he wanted to pursue music.
According to the singer, they were at the same academy at the time, but while Mikel was focused on building a career in football, he already knew that music was what he wanted to do.
He said he turned down the opportunity, allowing his friend to focus on his football dream.
During a conversation, Mr Eazi said:
“Chelsea Football Club approached me to sign before Mikel Obi when we were at the same academy, but I turned them down because I knew I could do music, while my friend Mikel only wanted to play football. So I allowed him to shine.”
