Actor Yul Edochie has advised men to be careful about how much money they spend on women, especially when it comes to relationships that may not work out.
He said spending money on a woman does not give a man the right to hurt her if she decides to leave him for another man. According to him, no amount of money spent on a relationship should ever be used as a reason to justify violence or take someone’s life.
In a post he shared, he wrote:
“Men, no matter how much money you spend on a woman, it doesn’t give you the right to harm her if she leaves you for another man.
“It doesn’t make her deserving of de.ath.
“She never forced you to spend your money.
“You did it out of your own free will.
“No woman forces a man to spend his money on her.
“To avoid such stories, men have sense.
“Spend your money on yourself.
“Invest in yourself.
“If you want to spend your money on a woman, spend what you can forfeit, incase things go wrong.”
Edochie’s advice is that men should learn to manage their finances, focus on their personal growth and avoid spending more than they can afford to lose in a relationship.
He also stressed that financial support should never become a reason for a man to feel entitled to a woman’s life or choices.
