Hillary Clinton had one last important stop to make before the big Apr. 19 New York Democratic primary, and that was to ‘The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.’
Dine and dash! Hillary Clinton, 68, got stiffed with the check when she went on a lunch date with The Late Show host Stephen Colbert, 51, at the world-famous Carnegie Deli. But prior to that, Stephen got down to the hard-hitting questions we’ve been waiting for, like what the worst food she’s had on the campaign trail was and why she hates to eat on camera!
In a pre-taped segment ahead of the big New York Democratic primary, Hillary took some time out to have lunch with Stephen and since they were talking over food, he asked her what the worst thing she’s had to eat on the campaign trail was. Stephen hinted it HAD to have been something at one of the many Iowa appearances she made. While Hillary wouldn’t give a direct answer, she did applaud food on stick, noting it makes it so much easier to eat on the go! Ah, wise words!
He noted she recently was at Junior’s Deli in New York and wanted but bypassed on their famous cheesecake. “It’s awkward eating in front of the press,” she confessed. “Cause they could get a funny shot, it could drop out of your mouth, smear on your face,” she revealed, but Stephen decided to show her how it can totally be done.
“You want to use a fork, take a little off the top and…” then he grabbed the huge slice in his hand and stuffed the end of it in his mouth. It had Hillary completely in stitches, totally caught off guard by his hilarious stunt as he told her people would love it and it would be “humanizing.” She fired back,”I clearly have to do that. You’ve given me a great way to think about doing this now.” OMG, we would DIE if she or any other candidate actually tried that!
After the cheesecake came the check to which he told her, “Its been lovely,” while Hillary enthusiastically said “I enjoyed it. A lot!” He asked her “are you okay if we split this” about the bill and even though she agreed, Stephen turned and ran out the door! No fair! You can’t dine and dash on someone who might be our future president!
