Find Out Why This House Can’t Be Sold Despite It’s £30k Cheaper In Sale Than Others In The Same Neighbourhood

This perfect-looking little detached home comes with a lush
green garden and is £30k cheaper than most places in this neighbourhood. Hundreds
have expressed an interest and dozens have viewed the property – but not one
person has dared make a bid.
That’s because it comes with a blood-curdling secret that is
    putting off potential buyers.
The Silence of the Lambs building where Jodie Foster tracked
down Buffalo Bill and exposed his twisted plan for the women he had abducted
and murder has been on the housing market since last August.

But despite being one of the most clicked on properties on
Realtor.com, the Layton in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania home has cut its price in
an effort to shift it. The four-bedroom home has just dropped its price by
    £34,500 to £173,000.
The owners Barbara and Scott Lloyd have been there for 39
years, and filming for the 1991 Oscar-winning hit took place when they lived
there – moving to live upstairs when their foyer and dining room were needed.
A location scout knocked on the couple’s door out of the
blue and they agreed to allow filming.
In the dining room, Barbara tells CBS Local : “This is where
Jodie Foster noticed the death’s head moth flying around the table, and she
said, ‘Oh my gosh. This is the serial killer.’”
In the film , Buffalo Bill is a serial killer who murders
overweight women and skins them so he can make a ‘woman suit’ for himself.
Wet-behind-the-ears FBI trainee Clarice Starling, played by
Jodie Foster, builds an unlikely alliance with Anthony Hopkin’s imprisoned
psychiatrist and cannibal Dr Hannibal Lecter to apprehend Bill.
It won five Oscars, including best picture and best actress
and best actor awards for the leads.
In the film, the three-storey Victorian has a dungeon where
Bill, played by Ted Levine, keeps the young women he abducts.
In real life the house is bright and cheery with flowery
wallpaper and a swimming pool, but it lacks a dungeon.
Around an hour south of Pittsburgh, it boasts one bathroom,
which some believe may be another reason stopping its sale.

Nonetheless, people are interested in its place in movie
lore. The house is on the market with realtor Dianne Wilk . Will you blame
    them?
