Members of
the Democratic Socialist Movement (DSM) and some other groups in communities
across Lagos State are protesting the planned hike in electricity tariff by
Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) and perennial power outage today.
In a
statement by its Organising Secretary, Chinedu Bosah, the groups said they
would be a peaceful rally at Federal High Court Ikoyi-Falomo to protest the hike and outage being imposed on them by the energy
companies (Distribution and generation companies).
