Monday Morning Update: Kashamu Not In Court Yet

The extradition proceedings of Ogun East senator-elect,
Buruji Kashamu which begins today at the Federal High Court, Ikoyi, Lagos, is
dragging due to the late arrival of Kashamu.

The court which was already filled to the brim by 10:30 am
will decide whether the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) can
extradite Kashamu after they stormed his Lekki residence in Lagos on Saturday
and subsequently put him under house arrest.
“His lawyer, Alex Izion and his political associates are all
in court and waiting for proceedings to begin but
Kashamu must arrive first,” PM News correspondent said.

But his personal assistant in a text to Channels Tv confirmed that NDLEA officials are yet to provide a warrant of arrest, and the senator-elect is still very much at home, and might not be going to court until a warrant is produced. Continue…

Meanwhile, some pro-Kashamu protesters are calling for his
freedom and have labelled the proceeding against him as politically motivated
    by some of his enemies.
The protesters who were carrying placards want Kashamu to be
    freed.
