Former Chinese Driver Turned Financier Buys Ancient Vase For $14.71m

Chinese business man, Liu Yiqian has splashed out $14.71m today
on an ancient vase at an auction which took place in Hong Kong. The simple
octagonal piece is an 800-year-old Southern Song Dynasty work tinted milky blue.
The businessman, a taxi driver turned financier is the chairman
of investment company Sunline Group and one of China’s wealthiest men.

The 51-year-old first broke the world auction record for
Chinese porcelain in April, 2014 when he bought a Ming Dynasty wine cup known
as the chicken cup for the sum of $36 million. Liu has also been pictured
drinking tea with the wine cup. Mad money lol.
