Chairperson of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has responded to controversial activist VeryDarkMan after he issued a one-week ultimatum demanding the rescue of underage Nigerian girls allegedly trafficked to Ivory Coast

VeryDarkMan, in an emotional video that has since gone viral, accused Dabiri-Erewa of negligence, claiming that girls—some reportedly under the age of 12—had been trafficked from Nigeria and were now stranded in the Ivory Coast. He warned that if action was not taken within a week, he would become her “biggest problem.”

But in a firm response posted to her verified X (formerly Twitter) account, Dabiri-Erewa dismissed the accusations as both “misinformed” and “ignorant.”

She said:

“Totally wrong, misinformed and ignorant call,” she wrote. “Have you heard of @naptipnigeria? It’s the agency responsible solely for trafficking. @nidcom has collaborated with them as much as we can and, for your information, using my own personal resources—not government funds.”,

“I’m sure @naptipnigeria will treat [the matter] appropriately. I advise you to tag them.”
