member Abike Dabiri-Erewa, today slammed a N500m libel suit on Diamond Bank Plc
for maliciously publishing her name as one of the bank’s debtors on Punch Newspaper
which came out on Monday.
Dabiri said as a well known
politician the said publication has subjected her to public opprobrium,
ridicule and embarrassment of monumental proportion.

Before now, Mrs Erewa had mandated
her lawyer to forward a letter to the bank for a retraction but after refusing
to comply with her demands, she had no choice than to sue them.
