The Ogun State governor, Dapo Abiodun has called on the people of the state to take ownership of public infrastructures, particularly roads in their various localities, saying “it is your duty to protect the roads as they belong to you”.
Abiodun made this call at the official commissioning of a one kilometer Isheri Olofin Palace Road in Ifo Local Government area of the state.
The governor commended Ibrahim Isiaka, a member of the House of Representatives representing Ifo/ Ewekoro Federal Constituency, for facilitating the project in the community.
Abiodun who was represented by his Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure; Ade Adesanya, noted that his administration would continue to do all it can to make life better for the people of the state.
He said that his administration would not relent in its effort to rehabilitate some failed sections of the Sango-Ota-Ijoko-Alagbole road, adding that the road which was broken into six sections, would be completed in time to ease the movement of goods and services.
“Let me charge all our people in the state, especially the residents of this area to take ownership of this road and other projects across the state. You are to protect them as they belong to you.
“On the Sango-Ota-Ijoko-Alagbole road, let me assure you that work is ongoing and will be completed within the specific period.
“What we have done is to break the project into six sections, this is to ensure faster completion of the project. Already, work is ongoing on both sections 1 and 6 which is the beginning and the end of the road.
“Also, work will soon begin on section 2 to 5, which is in between Mr Biggs and Ijoko. In addition, a section from Abule-Ekun to Lambe, Jalisco would soon start because the contractor is mobilizing to site,” he said.
