A private jet suffered a tyre burst today at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, prompting a temporary closure of the runway.
The aircraft, a Gulfstream 400 registered as 5N-PZE, sustained damage to its nosewheel while landing around 2 pm.
According to a source familiar with the situation, the jet had departed from Enugu Airport and was carrying 10 passengers and four crew members at the time of the incident.

The cause of the mishap was not immediately clear, but the source confirmed that the aircraft was promptly evacuated from the runway. “Yes, I can confirm an aircraft incident on Abuja Airport’s runway today.
The plane came from Enugu and had a nosewheel issue upon landing. All 14 people onboard, including four crew members, are safe. The airport experienced only a brief closure,” the source said.
