Comrade Kennedy Iyere, the Accord Party’s gubernatorial candidate for Edo State, has withdrawn from the election, citing a desire to address Nigeria’s broader social and economic challenges

Iyere’s campaign faced difficulties due to internal conflicts, including attempts by his running mate, Bright Enabulele, to discredit him.
Enabulele falsely claimed to be the party’s nominee, despite government records indicating otherwise.
The Edo State gubernatorial election is scheduled for September 21, with leading candidates including:
– Asue Ighodalo (PDP)
– Senator Monday Okpebholo (APC)
– Olumide Akpata (Labour Party)
Iyere now focuses on supporting federal initiatives to tackle unemployment, economic development, and food insecurity.
He advocates for a fair rotation of power, supporting a candidate from Edo Central Senatorial District.
“I’m shifting focus to serve Nigerians at large, helping rebuild Nigeria’s economic greatness,” Iyere stated.
He’s assisting the federal government in designing social intervention programs for youth entrepreneurship, self-employment, and poverty alleviation, aiming to create over six million jobs within the first year.
