A senior lecturer at the Department of Entrepreneurship Studies, Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Dr Vincent Paul, has called on yet-to-be-employed graduates across the country to consider acquiring relevant skills in order to tackle the prevailing issues of unemployment
The don made the call on Wednesday in Lafia, the state capital during the inauguration of the Nasarawa State University’s National Executive Council of its Alumni association, and Trust Fund for Legacy Projects.
Paul emphasised the need for young graduates to show commitment to developing their skills and talents to improve their livelihoods instead of waiting for white-collar jobs, which may never come due to the country’s lack of employment opportunities.
He further called on political leaders in the country to support the youth by regularly organising skill acquisition programmes.
This, he said, would enable them to become self-reliant and financially independent, and they would also be able to contribute meaningfully to the growth of society.
“As a Nigerian graduate, it is very important to learn a skill as this will help you to set up your own business and start earning while searching for any job of your choice.
“Skills have made many people employers of labour, so I urge the youths to take advantage of it,” he explained.

so true 100% i wish i realize this ontime never too late sha,already planning towards learning a skill soon , millions of nigeria graduates are on the street with no hope of a good job,if you have money start a business or learn a lucrative skill,no hope for a common man in this country only GOD WILL HELP.
