Nollywood actor Ikechukwu Nweke has opened up about his battle with colon cancer, revealing that he is in urgent need of financial support to continue his treatment
Shared on his Instagram page, titled My Cancer Journey, the actor revealed that he was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2025 and has been undergoing intensive medical care ever since.
Nweke said he has spent over N15 million on chemotherapy, radiotherapy, scans, medical tests, and medications, with the costs placing a heavy financial strain on him and his family.
He expressed appreciation to his loved ones and colleagues who have supported him throughout the difficult period, giving special thanks to Uche Nancy, Destiny Etiko, Lizzy Gold, Ebele Okaro, and others for standing by him.
Despite the challenges, the actor said he remains determined to recover and appealed to Nigerians for financial assistance to help him complete the next stage of his treatment.
Sharing his account details for donations, Nweke said:
“Good morning, good afternoon and good evening from wherever you are watching me from, I was diagnosed with colon cancer last year. I have been trying so hard to manage it privately. I have spent a lot of money and my family members have contributed a whole lot. People close to me like Destiny Etiko, Uche Nancy, Lizzy Gold, Ebele Okaro, among others have also been supportive.
“Unfortunately, my battle is not over yet. My doctors have advised that I must continue with the next phase of my treatment to give me the best chance of a full recovery. I cannot afford to stop or skip this stage, but the financial burden has become overwhelming.
“Today, I’m humbly asking for your help. No amount is too small. Your support, your prayers, and even sharing this video can make a real difference in my fight for life.”
