Nigerian actor Kunle Afod has expressed concern over the growing wave of k!dnappings and vi0lent cr!mes in the country, describing the situation as increasingly alarming and beyond what many citizens can endure.
In a statement reflecting on the insecurity crisis, he noted the brazenness of some cr!minal groups and their ability to carry out abductions while openly displaying their activities without apparent restraint.
He said:
“So it has gotten to the stage that b@nd1t$ will k1dn@pp p£0pl£ and they will show their faces and locations and will even post the r@ns0m received on social media and be co0unting it and nothing can be done to them😭🙆♂️?”.
He also pointed to the severity of violence involved in some cases, where victims are killed even after efforts are made to secure their release.
Kunle Afod further stated;
“Some will even kpai a wh0le hum@n b£1ng on liv£ and the G0vvt couldn’t do anything
Afod further described what he sees as repeated attempts by the public to respond to the crisis through prayer, emotional appeals, movement, and ransom payments, none of which, according to him, have stopped the attacks.
They asked us to pray,we have prayed, they asked us to cry ,we have cried, they asked us to run, we have ran, they even asked us to pay r@ns0m we paid yet they continued kpaiing people, so what next are we supposed to do now?”.
He called for stronger intervention from authorities, stating that fear has become widespread among citizens as insecurity continues.
“The Govt needs to sit up do the needful, they cannot be kpaing innocent 9jas this way, everyone is so scared now and confused, what’s the way forward??”, he concluded.
