Abuja-based lady Ahmeerah Safiyanu has pleaded guilty to raising false alarm and misleading the public on twitter.

Ahmeerah was arraigned on Wednesday by the police at the Zone 2 Magistrate Court.

According to the police, she planned her own kidnap and was found in a hospital in Lagos.

Safiyanu appeared in court in blue dress, hijab and black facemask.

Police in the FCT on June 17 announced Safiyanu, who tweeted that she and 17 others were abducted by armed men in police uniform on June 14 in Abuja, had been found.

The lady sent an SOS message via her Twitter handle, @ameerah_sufyan. Her message immediately went viral and got the attention of the public and police.
