A staff member at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, Frank Omorojie, has been praised after he returned a missing purse containing cash and sensitive travel documents to its rightful owner
The incident happened on Wednesday at Terminal 2, around the Rwanda Air check-in section, where Omorojie reportedly came across the unattended item.

Inside the purse were $1,700, a Nigerian passport, a British passport, and a credit card.
Airport sources said there was immediate concern about identifying the owner, but Omorojie quickly handed the item over to Aviation Security (AVSEC) officials without any delay. The recovered belongings were then properly recorded and transferred to the Customer Service department, which issued a public announcement to trace the passenger.
Not long after, a Nigerian traveller heading to Kigali, Rwanda, who had already assumed the items were lost for good, was reunited with everything intact.
Officials at the airport described the action as a strong example of discipline and integrity, saying it helps strengthen trust in airport personnel and operations.
Omorojie, speaking briefly, said his decision was simply based on doing the right thing.
“I just did what was right,” he said.
