Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi has drawn attention to the poor condition of the hotel assigned to the team ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup African play-off match against Gabon in Morocco
Iwobi shared a video showing the state of the accommodation, raising concerns about the facilities provided.

CAF, which is responsible for arranging lodging for participating nations, usually handles hotel allocations, though national associations like the Nigeria Football Federation can request changes if conditions are unsuitable.
This isn’t the first time Nigerian footballers have complained about tournament accommodations. Earlier in 2025, Super Falcons captain Rasheedat Ajibade criticised the rooms provided by CAF during the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
The Super Eagles will face Gabon in the African play-off on November 13 as they battle to secure a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup. CAF and the NFF have not yet responded to Iwobi’s video.
