In response to inflation reaching 9.53% in Algeria, the government has subsidized a market in Algiers to ensure the affordability and availability of essential products, particularly during Ramadan.

In Algeria, the cost of living is increasing due to inflation, making it difficult for the citizens to afford necessities, especially during the month of Ramadan. The prices of goods at the Reda Houhou market in downtown Algiers have become very expensive, which is a challenge for customers like Mustapha Bali, a civil servant. To meet demand, meat vendor Ahmed Laaloufi has been importing goods.
To help the citizens, the Algerian government has subsidized a market in Algiers where products are affordable and accessible to everyone. This market is called the solidarity market, and it provides products at much lower prices than conventional markets. Sofiane Ameri, a customer, has noted this relief.
However, Nabil Djemaa, an analyst, warns that inflation can have a significant impact on various goods, particularly agricultural products like wheat. He emphasizes that inflation leads to price hikes and stresses the importance of government intervention in stabilizing markets and helping citizens deal with financial strain.
