Nollywood actress Uche Ogbodo is speaking out after facing criticism for promoting Brazilian Butt Lifts (BBL) online
The backlash came in the wake of a tragic incident where a young influencer, identified as Elena Jessica, reportedly d!ed following a botched BBL at Cynosure Clinic in Lagos.
In a heartfelt video on her Instagram, Uche addressed the controversy head-on. She acknowledged that BBLs carry risks but asked a simple question:
“Which surgery isn’t risky?”
She pointed out that people also lose their lives from fibroid surgery, C-sections, and even complications from headaches.
Her message to anyone considering a BBL was straightforward: be informed, choose a reliable doctor and hospital, avoid infections, and prioritize aftercare.
Uche said:
“People are dragging me that I am promoting BBL despite the fact that a lady just lost her life to it. Yes, BBL is risky, but which surgery isn’t? People d!e from fibroid surgery, C-section, and even headaches.
Just make sure you are well-informed about the surgery you want. Use a good hospital and a good doctor. Make sure you don’t allow infection to enter your wound and take your aftercare seriously.”
Her response has sparked a wider conversation online about cosmetic procedures, safety, and personal responsibility when it comes to BBL surgery and if the surgery really worth the risk.

I will never pity anyone that die from BBL. Good riddance of bad rubbish.
