Davido has warned that helping people does not always end the way you expect
The singer made the comment during a conversation on The Uncut Podcast, where he spoke about kindness and the different ways it can play out in life.
According to Davido, you may help someone with good intentions and still find yourself dealing with an unexpected outcome later. That, he said, is why people should be careful about the kind of help they offer and make sure they have something to fall back on if questions come up.
He said:
“In life you never know where your kindness can take you. It can either take you up or down. That’s why when you help people, always keep receipts”.
His advice means, helping people is a good thing, but it does not mean you should forget to protect yourself along the way.
Truly, kindness can open doors and lead to good things, but it can also put someone in a difficult position. So, whenever you step in to help, it is worth remembering exactly what you did and keeping proof of it.
