Clergyman Odumeje has spoken about his shocking experience by saying America is not better than Nigeria
Contrary to the hype, he believes Nigeria is just as good, if not better.
According to Odumeje during a sermon, his time in the US showed him that people prioritize their own business over helping others, unlike in Nigeria where community and neighborly love thrive.
He fondly recalls greeting neighbors back home, contrasting it with the individualistic culture he observed in America.
Odumeje’s take is that Nigeria has its own unique charm and strengths, and with some effort, it can be an amazing place to live.
Odumeje says:
“I’ve been to that trending America. There’s no country better than our own country. There’s no place like our country if we can build our country. Imagine me going to America and requesting that I be taken back home. In Nigeria you come out and greet your neighbours, in America everybody passes you with no concern…”
