Singer Amerie’s divorce settlement with her former husband, Lenny Nicholson, includes child support arrangements as well as income figures revealed in court documents.
According TMZ, the former couple did not own any shared property or maintain joint bank accounts during their marriage.
Amerie was awarded ownership of her companies Amerie Inc., Cer One Touring, and Mi Suk Publishing as part of the settlement. She also kept her 2016 Range Rover.
The court further ordered Nicholson to hand over Amerie’s television music tracks and an external hard drive containing her music files.
The judgment granted Amerie primary physical custody of their son, while Nicholson received parenting time every third weekend. He was also ordered to pay $2,298 per month in child support.
In the filing, Amerie stated that they got married on June 25, 2011, before separating in April 2024. She described the marriage as “irretrievably broken.”
Nicholson claimed he worked with the singer for more than 20 years as her manager, tour producer, performance director, and business strategist. He alleged he never received full payment for his contributions to her career, including work connected to royalties, merchandise sales, and publishing.
He also accused Amerie of leaving their marital home while he was recovering from surgery and claimed he later covered $44,000 in rent and additional expenses. Nicholson further alleged that the singer spent thousands on cosmetic surgery and luxury trips while relaunching her music career.
He had asked the court to award him $1.75 million in unpaid commissions, $150,000 in emotional distress damages, spousal support, and other financial compensation.
Court records listed Amerie’s estimated monthly income at $5,735, while Nicholson’s income was reported at $10,000 per month.
