The Ondo State Security Network, Amotekun, has intensified surveillance on boarding schools across the state amid concerns of possible bandit attacks.
Corps Commander Adetunji Adeleye disclosed the development on Tuesday, highlighting efforts to boost security alertness within the corps.

“In response to recent reports of security breaches and kidnappings, the corps has commenced full enhanced patrols of all boarding schools in the state,” Adeleye said. “Over the past week, we have visited numerous schools, focusing particularly on those with boarding facilities in border towns and outskirts. We have also intensified 24/7 patrols, and our ember month border security operations have been stepped up to ensure protection.”
The corps also paraded three kidnapping suspects—Olamiju (35), Udofia, and Miracle—who were apprehended at Agbaje camp in Ala-Dada, Akure North LGA while allegedly attempting to abduct individuals.
In addition, 13 other suspects were presented for various offences, including theft, armed robbery, and violations of the anti-grazing law.
Commander Adeleye said, “Operation Le Won Jade, conducted across Ondo State’s 18 local government areas, has significantly disrupted the activities of bandits and kidnappers in our forests. The operation is ongoing.”
He added that 34 arrests were made in the past week, with 16 suspects paraded publicly. Among them were:
- Abubakar, 24, arrested in Ogbese for anti-grazing activities
- Usman, for stealing a drilling machine
- Ibuba, for anti-grazing offences
- Uche, a fraudster targeting POS users
- Samson, 32, for stealing farm produce
- Tosin, in connection with robbery and attempted murder
- Abiola, 25, for attempted murder
- Samuel, for armed robbery
- Sunday, 28, with Tope, 25, and Dayo, 29, for phone theft
- Mohamed, for anti-grazing offences
- Subuloye, for vandalising government property
Adeleye emphasized that the corps remains committed to safeguarding residents and ensuring security across the state.
