The Ogun State Police Command has confirmed that Nigerian-born British boxer Anthony Joshua is safe following an SUV accident in Sagamu, Ogun State, on Monday
Deputy Superintendent of Police Oluseyi Bassey said Joshua, who was in the rear of the Lexus SUV, sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene.
The crash occurred around 11:00 a.m. in Makun, along the Lagos–Ibadan Expressway, just before Danco Filling Station near the Sagamu Interchange on the Ibadan-bound route. The exact cause of the accident is still under investigation.
Tragically, two other passengers in the vehicle died at the scene. Their bodies were taken to Livewell Hospital Morgue in Sagamu. The Ogun State Police Command extended condolences to the families of the deceased and confirmed that a full investigation into the incident is underway.
Authorities have promised to release further updates as the probe continues.
