The 33-year-old Atletico Madrid forward shared his decision on X, stating, “It is with a heart full of memories that I am closing this chapter of my life.”

Griezmann made his France debut in 2014 and accumulated 137 caps, ranking third behind Hugo Lloris (145) and Lilian Thuram (142). He is also fourth in France’s all-time leading goal-scorers list with 44 goals.

Griezmann’s last appearance for France was in a UEFA Nations League win against Belgium earlier this month.

His retirement follows those of fellow French legends Hugo Lloris, Raphael Varane, and Olivier Giroud, signaling the end of an era for Les Bleus.

Coach Didier Deschamps will announce his next France squad on Thursday ahead of Nations League matches against Israel and Belgium.
