Antoine Griezmann is edging closer to a move to Major League Soccer side Orlando City SC, with talks progressing ahead of a potential summer transfer
Sources close to the negotiations revealed that the Atlético de Madrid forward has already been granted permission by his club to travel to Florida during the FIFA international break to push forward discussions over his future.
Another source confirmed that the French striker is expected to use his time off to continue negotiations with the MLS side, as both parties work towards finalizing an agreement. Talks between Griezmann and the Florida-based club have reportedly been ongoing for several weeks.
Orlando City currently holds the player’s “discovery rights,” an MLS rule that gives them priority in securing his signature.
Griezmann, who recently turned 35, remains a historic figure at Atlético Madrid, holding the record as the club’s all-time top scorer with 211 goals.
